WORK EXPERIENCE

DURATION: 3 WEEKS 

AIM:

The aim of this module is to provide trainees with the skills and confidence to prepare for and complete work experience of their choice and evaluate their individual performance.

OBJECTIVES :

On completion of this module, the trainee will be able to 

1. 

Prepare for Work Experience through the Preparation for Work module, IASN02 (Job seeking).

2. 

Complete Work Experience using the skills they learned while completing the Preparation for Work Module, through the objectives of module IASNO6 (Work Experience).

3.

Evaluate Work Experience to the point where they can realise their capabilities to work at a real job and understand what improvements are needed.

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT

WEXFORD CONSORTIUM FOR SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT (W.C.S.E.)

Supported Employment is a Fás Employment Initiative that seeks to facilitate the employment of people with disabilities into the open labour market.  Traditionally this has proved difficult due to lack of information and support for both the job seeker and potential employer.  

This programme aims to improve on past experiences in this area by giving one to one support for the job seeker, but also going one step further by providing on the job coaching as required by the new employee in co-operation with the employer.
