SELF ADVOCACY

DURATION: 18 WEEKS

A I M:

To provide the trainee with a range of transferable skills and attitudes needed in all day-to-day situations at home, at work and socially.

OBJECTIVES:

 On completion of the module, the trainee will be able to:

1.

Work with other members of a team and carry out different responsibilities during team exercises in order to achieve the objectives (4.1, 4.2) in all IAS Modules:

4.1             Work with other members of a team to achieve common aims.

4.2             Carry out different responsibilities during team exercises.

2.

State areas where s/he performed well and identify areas for improvement in order to achieve the objectives (6.1, 6.2) of all IAS Modules: 

6.1             State areas where you performed well and areas for improvement.

6.2             Complete exercise to an acceptable standard.

3.

To make simple decisions while carrying out instructions in order to achieve the objectives in IAS Module IASN04 (Using Information).

4.

Develop a project that tries out ways to be assertive in everyday situations in order to achieve the objectives of IASNO3 (Assertiveness).

5.

Compile a portfolio of their life and give a presentation of same to the group in order to achieve the objectives of IASNO5 (Self Advocacy). 

6.

Plan and demonstrate a skill of choice using all the correct steps to achieve the objectives of IASVO2 (Demonstrate a Skill).
